Police processed 165,000 criminal cases related to narcotics in 2015, seizing 102.5 tons of hard drugs, up 48.7 percent year on year, the National Narcotics Control Commission (NNCC) announced Wednesday.
The NNCC and the Ministry of Public Security launched a series of campaigns targeting narcotics crimes last year.
They also cooperated with neighboring countries and regions to eradicate the cross-border narcotics distribution network.
The NNCC said more than one million people were arrested in 2015 for taking narcotics, 387,000 of whom were enrolled in compulsory drug treatment.
