Liu Quan, China's new ambassador to Vanuatu, presented his letter of credence to Vanuatu's President Baldwin Lonsdale on Tuesday, vowing to promote ties and friendship between the two countries.

Conveying the cordial greetings and good wishes of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Lonsdale, Liu said that although China is far away from Vanuatu, friendship between the two governments and peoples is profound.

Liu lauded Vanuatu's achievements in economic and social development as well as its key role in the South Pacific region and vowed to boost bilateral friendship and cooperation.

Asking Liu to convey his greetings to the Chinese leader, Lonsdale said he welcomes Liu to his new post in Vanuatu.
