Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday congratulated Aung San Suu Kyi on her appointment as foreign minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
The time-tested brotherly relationship between China and Myanmar is growing stronger and the traditional good-neighborly and friendly cooperation between the two countries has brought tangible benefits to the two peoples, Wang said in a congratulatory message.
The foreign ministries of the two countries have played important roles in promoting the development of China-Myanmar ties, Wang said.
China is ready to engage in close collaboration with Myanmar and make unswerving efforts to push forward the China-Myanmar comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, he added.
