China's top political advisors have called for improved political consultative work and democratic supervision, and better decision-making support for the Party and government.
The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held the 43rd meeting of its chairman and vice chairpersons on Thursday.
Attendees highlighted improving political consultative work to follow major issues of economic and social development, difficulties in deepening reforms and key issues regarding promotion of innovation during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020).
The meeting, presided over by Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, approved a decision to expel Zhu Hongda and Shangguan Yongqing from the CPPCC National Committee.
