Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant has accomplished a great deal in his 20-year career and there is no denying that Kobe has made a significant impact in NBA history.
Jumping into the NBA straight from high school, the superstar has made his mark both as an individual player and part of his championship teams.
And while we will not be able to see breathtaking performances of the Black Mamba again, we may look back at the amazing records and accomplishments Kobe has achieved.
Five NBA championships
Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles Lakers to win five NBA championships (2000,2001,2002,2009,2010). He probably could have finished with more if he and Shaquille O'Neal never split up.
Third on NBA's all-time scoring list
Bryant ranks third on the NBA's all-time scoring list, trailing only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone. He's also third in postseason scoring too, trailing Michael Jordan and Abdul-Jabbar.
11 times All-NBA First-Team Selection
Bryant made a record NBA First-Team Selection 11 times, tied with Karl Malone. Besides, he also made nine times NBA All-Defensive first Team.
Two Olympic gold medals
Bryant has been on five US national basketball teams, helping lead them to gold medals in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. He led the American team to win all their 996 games from 2007 to 2012.
Four-Time All-Star MVP
He earned four All-Star game MVP's in 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011, including one in his hometown of Philadelphia, and one in LA.
Career-high 81 points
Bryant scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors in January 2006, the second most points scored in a single NBA game behind Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game in 1962.
Two-Time League Scoring Champ
Not only did Bryant set the second most points record in a game with 81 points, but he also led the league in scoring twice (2007, 2008).
One-time NBA MVP
Bryant was awarded the league's MVP in 2008. But despite his five NBA titles, 17 All-Star Game appearances, he has just one NBA MVP award.
