A court in east China on Thursday opened trial on the bribery case of Jiang Wei, former vice general manager of China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd, a state-owned conglomerate.
Prosecutors accused Jiang of using his position to seek benefits for others and accepting bribes worth more than 2.86 million yuan (440,000 U.S. dollars) between 2007 and 2013, according to the Municipal Intermediate People's Court of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province.
Jiang confessed during the trial.
The court has not announced a verdict.
