On Sunday, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television announced new regulations that prevent the children of celebrities from appearing on reality TV shows, as well as more strictly regulate the number, content and length of reality TV programing.
Some local TV stations have announced that they have adjusted their programming accordingly and would no longer broadcast reality shows that depict celebrities and their children such as Where Are We Going, Dad and Dad is Back.
According to the statistics, there were more than 100 entertainment shows, many reality shows featuring children, broadcast on TV channels across China in 2015, earning more than 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) in advertising revenue.
Previously in July of 2015, the administration tightened regulations on reality shows, calling for them to minimize the involvement of minors.
