'The Jungle Book' rules China's box office

Disney's "The Jungle Book" stomped out the competition in Chinese theaters in the week ending April 17, earning 318 million yuan (about 49.1 million U.S. dollars) after opening on April 15, the China Film News reported on Tuesday.

Action-thriller "London Has Fallen" came in second place during the week, pulling in 136 million yuan.

"Chongqing Hot Pot," a domestic heist drama about events leading to a bank robbery, raked in about 47 million yuan to land in third place in the week.

The fourth place went to "Lost in White," a domestic action-thriller that opened on April 15, with 27 million yuan.

Rounding out the top five was domestic action movie "My Beloved Bodyguard." The film, which stars Sammo Hung and Andy Lau, grossed 26 million yuan in the week.
