China's weather observatory renewed a blue alert for rainstorms on Saturday morning, forecasting that heavier rain will lash the country's southern regions this weekend.
The National Meteorological Center said precipitation could reach up to 100 mm in a few areas. Lightning, gales and hail will accompany the rain.
The center said torrential rain will continue to frequently hit the southern regions in the remaining days of April and warned of mountain torrents, mudslides or landslides in Guangxi, Guangdong and Yunnan.
The observatory advised against entering mountainous areas in the rain.
