Shandong Airlines will launch a new route from Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, to Thailand's capital Bangkok next week, the company said in a statement Saturday.
The first flight on the route will take off from Urumqi at 7:20 p.m. on May 4, arrive in Kunming at 11:15 p.m. for a 105-minute stopover and land in Bangkok at 3:05 a.m.
The return flight will take off from Bangkok at 4:05 a.m., stop over in Kunming for two hours and arrive in Urumqi at 11:45 a.m.
A Boeing 737-800 will fly the route and service will be daily.
Shandong Airlines set up its service base in Urumqi in March 2015. Its flight also links Urumqi with Osaka in Japan.
The company is planning to increase its flight services from Urumqi to more destinations in Japan, the Republic of Korea and southeast Asia.
