Parks near the new Shanghai Disneyland had to turn people away because of an influx of badly-behaved tourists last weekend.

Six weeks before the Shanghai Disneyland opens, several parks around the tourist complex, such as the Ecological Green Park and Vanilla Park, attracted visitors who could not wait for the new theme park to open during the three-day May Day holidays.

However, a series of photos show tourists having badly has gone viral, including images of a lamppost in the Disney Town complex that had "I've been here" scratched into it, public urination, littering and visitors picking flowers, local news portal thepaper.cn reported.

"Some tourists stepped into gardens to take photos and picked flowers," an upset Vanilla Park employee told thepaper.cn.

Vanilla Park started to limit the number of visitors that could enter on Tuesday.

Vanilla Park, which contains around 200,000 vanilla orchids, set aside a specific place for tourists to take pictures. They allowed only 20 tourists to cross the barrier and take photos each time, setting a time limit of three minutes.

Not all visitors were badly behaved. Some of the park's shops and restaurants haven't opened yet.

However, many visitors brought their own food and carried plastic bags to put their garbage in.

Shanghai's subway authorities forecasted in April that over 120,000 passengers would get off at the city's Disneyland metro station around the May Day holidays, thepaper.cn reported.
