The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi said on Thursday that he is impressed with the facilities at the newly constructed sports stadium in Cape Coast.
The 15,000 capacity stadium was constructed by the China Jiangxi Technical and Economic Cooperation, fully funded by the Chinese government at a cost of 30 million U.S. dollars.
It is furnished with modern facilities for hosting multi sports events.
Nyantakyi said the edifice has come at the right time to help them develop football.
He said the stadium will open up the region as a vibrant hub for sports particularly soccer and would present the FA with the opportunity of hosting national team matches there.
"We will be playing games here and fortunately in Cape Coast we have a number of good hotels and that makes it possible for us to play qualifiers," he told reporters.
