China and Ukraine have agreed to facilitate two-way travel to promote business and tourism, local media reported Wednesday.
The agreement was reached Tuesday during the Ukrainian-Chinese consultations on consular issues at the level of heads of consular services, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
"The two sides have reached an agreement in principle on the implementation of practical steps for mutual simplification of the travel regime, developed a roadmap for joint actions in liberalizing visa procedures and a plan for the effective cooperation of the involved authorities of the two parties in providing appropriate assistance to citizens abroad," the statement said.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade,more than 11,000 Chinese citizens visited Ukraine in 2015, compared with about 5,000 travelers in 2014.
