IKCEST, an engineering science center co-founded by UNESCO and China, has launched online data services to pool scientific data from various sources, according to an announcement at an international meeting held Monday in Beijing.

At the three-day UNESCO Science Centers Coordination Meeting, which kicked off on Monday, it was announced that the International Knowledge Center for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the Auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST) has established a data service platform.

The platform can be accessed from IKCEST's website, www.ikcest.org. It integrates real-time public data on natural sciences released by UNESCO and the latest events in science and technology from world-renowned websites.

The platform also provides access to the latest periodicals of major global publishers in engineering sciences and technology and databases of teaching materials and courses from universities around the world.

IKCEST was established in Beijing in 2014 after approval by UNESCO a year earlier with a mission to integrate fragmented data in engineering science.

UNESCO, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly organized the UNESCO Science Centers Coordination Meeting. The meeting was attended by more than 160 representatives from over 30 countries.

The meeting's agenda included the new sustainable development goals of the United Nations in natural sciences and cooperation under the UNESCO framework, among other topics.
