China Renmin University Press and the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) inaugurated on Tuesday a publishing cooperation center in Bucharest to facilitate the publishing of academic works and boost bilateral professional exchanges.
"With the new center established, we will actually further promote the cultural dialogue," said ICR Vice Chairman Mihaly Zoltan Nagy, who voiced his confidence about the availability of Romanian authors to the Chinese public, while Romanian readers will have access to more Chinese literature.
"We want the Romanian and Chinese markets to benefit from this center by publishing as many works as possible," said Zhang Jianming, executive vice chairman of the Renmin University.
The two sides anticipate a better visibility of Chinese and Romanian authors on the book markets in each other's country, by supporting translations and author's participations in specific events, such as book fairs and literary festivals.
