Chinese Internet giant Tencent won an award for innovation in talent development on Tuesday.
Tencent won the Innovation in Talent Development Award from the Association for Talent Development (ATD).
ATD recognizes organizations and individuals for excellence and contributions across the talent development field each year. This is the first time a Chinese company has won the award.
Talent is the most important asset of Internet companies, said Xi Dan, Tencent senior vice president overseeing the company's talent development, adding that flexible human resources management will keep employees motivated and the company young and vibrant.
Tencent earned about 4.9 billion U.S.dollars in revenue in the first quarter of this year, up 43 percent year on year with net profits rising 33 percent to about 1.4 billion U.S.dollars, thanks to strong online gaming and advertising businesses.
