It only took a child moments to destroy a large Lego statue of Nick Wilde on display in a Zhejiang Province shopping mall that took three days and 100,000 yuan ($15,190) to build.
The 1.8-meter-tall character from the Disney-hit Zootopia was laid to waste after an enthusiastic 4-year-old tore it down within an hour of its unveiling at Wanda Plaza in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang Province, news site thepaper.cn reported.
The builder, surnamed Zhao, an employee at an educational institution, said he wont seek compensation and the child's parent has apologized for the unscheduled demolition.
"The child is too young, and we share responsibility for losing control of the situation," Zhao told thepaper.cn.
Zhao's work was displayed at an event promoting his employer, during which organizers encouraged children to take their pictures with the Lego cartoon character.
However, little children and delicate things do not mix. The 4-year-old managed to bring the statue down within an hour of the event's opening.
Zhao was left crushed by the incident, explaining he had worked around the clock to finish the statue in time for the event.
"I took off some parts and put some on, over and over again, especially the eyes. They were too big at first, so [Nick's] sly and wise-cracking traits were somehow missing. I had to redo some parts," said Zhao.
