The Communist Party of China's (CPC) graft watchdog has solicited opinions from officials for the formulation of a new intra-party liability regulation.
Wang Qishan, secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), chaired two separate consultation meetings in Beijing and Shenyang, the CCDI said in a statement on Tuesday, without specifying when the meetings took place.
Formulating the regulation will release a strong signal that the CPC is serious about holding officials accountable for dereliction of duty, Wang said at the meetings.
The regulation should focus particularly on senior officials so as to spur them to shoulder more responsibility, he said.
