Zhang Xiaowu is a 12th generation descendant of Chen. He is a famous shadowboxing coach and an honorary chairman of the martial arts association at South China Normal University.

Zhang originally comes from Jiaozuo, Henan province. It is hard to imagine that this shadowboxing master suffered from poor health when he was young, but for many years he did. He once passed out for 10 hours because he drank a glass of ice water. After that incident, his mother decided to send Zhang to learn martial arts. It was then that Zhang's gift for shadowboxing was discovered.

Zhang moved to Guangzhou in 1989 to teach shadowboxing. Now 27 years have passed; Zhang is not only a well-known shadowboxing master, he is also a righteous citizen who has helped the Guangzhou police to catch a number of criminals.

The first time Zhang got involved in law enforcement was in 1990. While he was teaching shadowboxing in a park, he heard someone cry out for help. He ran towards the voice, and discovered a man attempting to rape a girl in a bush. Zhang chased the man for hundreds of meters until he got away on his motorcycle. Since that day, Zhang has never stopped helping people in need.

Over the past 27 years, Zhang had helped police capture over 30 criminals. Even after being attacked in the line of duty, Zhang never regrets what he had done to help those in need. Zhang said it's related to his devotion to shadowboxing; he will always do his best to fight evil.
