At least 13 people were reported dead on Thursday in Guangxi, Hunan and Jiangxi as heavy rain continued in central and southern parts of China.
According to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region civil affairs department, one person drowned,three were killed by collapsed houses and one died in a landslide. Two are still unaccounted for.
About 108,000 people were relocated in Jiangxi Province, where four people have died. Direct economic losses are estimated at 630 million yuan (95 million U.S. dollars).
Across Hunan Province, four people were killed and four remain missing. Another 144,000 people have been relocated. Around 60,000 hectares of crops and 2,000 houses have been destroyed.
China is set for one of the heaviest rainy seasons in decades this summer, with increased risk of flooding and geological disaster.
