Entertainers found guilty of drug addiction can resume work after they're punished and promise not to use drugs again, an official announced Sunday.
Lan Weihong, deputy director of the national anti-drug office, told China News Service on Sunday that "celebrities can perform again if they conform to related regulations."
There has been a sharp rise in the number of drug addicts in China, especially in the entertainment world. Ko Chen-tung, a Taiwan film star, was arrested for drug use in Beijing in September 2014. Ko has gained attention after it was announced he would play in a TV drama.
Shanghai has banned broadcasters from hiring celebrities or airing their movies, TV shows if they have been involved in drug scandals since April.
