The first meeting of BRICS Working Group on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency will be held on Tuesday in India's southern city of Visakhapatnam, officials said.
An official release issued by Indian government on Monday said all BRICS nations -- Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa -- have confirmed their participation.
"During the two day deliberations, the BRICS countries will make presentations on measures taken by them in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency," the statement said.
"India will also showcase its efforts in energy saving, energy efficiency, in particular the LED street lighting programme and PAT (Performance Achievement and Trade) programme for Industrial energy efficiency."
Visakhapatnam is a port city and industrial centre in southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
The Working Group on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency will deliberate on a work plan on development of cooperation in energy saving and energy efficiency within BRICS.
Officials said a joint statement will be agreed upon during the meeting which will be a guiding tool for BRICS Working Group on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency.
