A dike that was breached two days ago in central China's Hunan Province was closed Tuesday morning.
The 47-meter gap was fixed as of 8:15 a.m., according to the Hunan Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.
More than 20,000 residents were evacuated after a breach at a flood detention basin in Huarong County, which covers 4,400 hectares.
Two thousand people, including soldiers and police, worked to close the breach, and drivers of more than 10 trucks voluntarily joined in the efforts.
Hunan is on high alert for floods after precipitation in some areas over the weekend hit record highs.
