Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Tuesday expressed his eagerness to promote relations with China.
"We need a breakthrough in our relations. We need to not only bring the relations with China to the next level, but also onto a new course," said Lukashenko.
He said China-Belarus relations are friendly and strategic, and that "we have been able to convince China that we are a reliable partner."
Lukashenko said this when appointing Kirill Rudy, his economic assistant, as the new Belarusian ambassador to China.
When giving instructions on preparations for his expected visit to Beijing in September, he also demanded ready response to opportunities to promote cooperation with China.
