Fond of American dramas

Unlike many Chinese students choosing cram schools to improve their study, Li Xiaotong, the top scorer in arts in 2016 gaokao in Northwest China's Gansu province, has never taken part in cram schools.

"Besides completing daily homework, I often spend around two hours learning every night at home," said Li.

Instead of a bookworm, Li has a wide interests ranging from accordion, badminton to American dramas and masterworks.

Though her parents objected to her interest in American dramas, Li said watching American dramas is one way of practicing English listening.
