Typhoon Nepartak has left 69 people dead and six missing in east China's Fujian Province as of 6 p.m. Thursday, provincial authorities said.
Minqing County, one of the worst hit region in the province, has reported 60 deaths. Six cities in the province have been flooded. A total of 506,700 people have been evacuated.
The typhoon has so far caused economic losses of 10 billion yuan (1.5 billion U.S. dollars) in the province. It has destroyed 19,510 hectares of crops and forced 233 factories to suspend production.
