Three Chinese students got injured in a traffic accident in west Germany on Sunday evening and they are currently in stable condition, the Consulate-General of China in Duesseldorf confirmed on Monday.
The accident took place on Sunday evening when the bus carrying 34 Chinese students and six teachers was travelling on a motorway near the western German city of Cologne. The bus driver applied emergency brake in order to shun some object on the motorway, leaving three students injured.
The injured were shifted to a hospital and it turned out that they had clavicular fracture, elbow fracture and bruise separately. The injured students have received timely and effective medical treatment and are now in stable condition, said a statement made by the Consulate-General.
The other passengers on the bus remain safe and sound and they will continue their journey as scheduled, the statement said.
The Consulate-General has sent its staff to visit the injured as soon as it knew the accident. It is still in close contact with concerned parties and stands ready to provide necessary assistance.
It is the peak season for Chinese students who are on summer vacation to join summer camps in Germany. The Consulate-General issued an alert calling for summer camp organizers and Chinese participants to pay high attention to safety issues of all kinds.
