Nearly 40 tourist spots in Beijing have been closed as heavy rain was forecast in the city from Sunday night to Monday.
Rain since Tuesday has all but saturated the soil in the capital, prompting a yellow alert for geological disaster which has been in force for days.
The 39 destinations are mostly in the mountainous outskirts, including Mentougou, Fangshan, Huairou and Yanqing.
The rain is expected to greatly affect morning rush hour traffic on Monday.
In neighboring Hebei Province, relief operations are under way with at least 114 people dead and 111 missing. Nearly 310,000 people have been evacuated.
The water supply in Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei, resumed Sunday, two days after flood water was found to have contaminated the city's drinking water.
