In an age where people are flooded with information on a daily basis, Chinese artist Deng Guoyuan is looking to provide a refuge from the flood with his work Noah's Garden.
The only work at his ongoing exhibition at the Red Brick Art Museum in Beijing, Noah's Garden consists of a man-made garden of green plants and fake mountains surrounded by glass objects that shine with reflected light.
"The memory of the forest comes from the beginning of mankind and how we used to survive in it. But with the industrial revolution, man began to change the forest, turning it into a garden in a city or in someone's backyard.
"The shining lights remind us how hard it is to live today, and how we ruined the original world we had," said exhibit curator Zhu Qingsheng.
The exhibit originally debuted at this year's Summer Davos in June in Tianjin.
The exhibition is scheduled to run until August 22.
