"Skiptrace," starring Jackie Chan, soared to the top of the Chinese box office, earning 408 million yuan (61.2 million U.S. dollars) in its debut weekend, China Film News reported Tuesday.
Warner Bros.'s "The Legend of Tarzan," starring Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie, stood in second place with 182 million yuan in sales in its first week in Chinese theaters.
"Cold War II" dropped to third place after two weeks of leading the box office. The domestic release has raked in 650 million yuan since its release on July 8.
Domestic animation "Big Fish & Chinese Flowering Crabapple" landed in fourth place, with 73 million yuan in sales last week. It has made 536 million yuan since July 8.
Rounding out the top five was domestic romance "When Larry Met Mary," which has grossed 172 million yuan since hitting screens on July 15.
