Vietnam's national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced its plan to reschedule flights departing from or arriving at China's Hong Kong and Guangzhou on Tuesday due to Typhoon Nida.
Typhoon Nida made landfall at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday at the Dapeng Peninsula in the city of Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, local weather authorities said.
Accordingly, eight flights departing from or to the two above-mentioned destinations will be delayed from 3 hours 35 minutes to 5 hours 40 minutes, reported Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA on Tuesday.
Vietnam's National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecastings said on local Tien Phong (Pioneer) newspaper that due to the typhoon's impact, Vietnam's northeast region will experience torrential rain from Tuesday night.
