South Korean President Park Geun-hye is scheduled to visit Russia in early September to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum hosted by the European country, Park's office said Wednesday.
The second round of the forum will be held for two days from Sept. 2 in Vladivostok. It will be hosted by the Russian government to increase investment and speed up development of its far eastern region, according to the presidential office Cheong Wa Dae.
President Park would join the forum at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. During her stay, the two presidents will hold a bilateral summit meeting, the Cheong Wa Dae said. Putin visited South Korea in November 2013.
Participants in the forum would be government and corporate officials from China, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asian countries.
