Chinese streaming site Sohu TV will start to air its self-produced drama My Little Princess on Thursday, according to a press release sent to the Global Times on Sunday.
The streaming only drama, directed by Taiwan director Yu Zhongzhong and starring Thailand actor Mike Angelo, tells a story about young men and women from rich families who attend a wealthy private school.
This is not Sohu TV's first self-produced drama. Earlier this year, Gogh The Starry Night, a coproduction between Sohu TV and South Korea's Kim Jong Hyuk Studio, has proved to be an extremely popular hit for the site.
However, different from the Korean language drama Gogh The Starry Night, which focused on a hard-working woman at an advertising agency, the new Chinese language show takes aim at what is known as "Princess syndrome" in China - young women who live in a fairy tale world where they are the center of their own universe.
The new drama is also seen as a new direction for the streaming platform to explore and expand on Taiwanese-style dramas.
