Over 85 percent of married women in Shanghai want to keep possession of their hubbies' payslips from work, according to the 2016 Single People Report released by zhenai.com.
According to the survey, wives in Beijing are the most possessive about payslips in China, ranking first with 92 percent. Women in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, come in third at 76 percent.
On the other side, 72 percent of men polled in the same survey said that they are willing to let their wife have their payslip, though 12 percent of those said they were only doing so to keep their wife happy and avoid domestic confrontations.
The study found that husbands from Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, are China's "most devoted," with 83 percent willing to submit their payslips to their wives.
