The first Olympics to be held in South America have concluded, and that means the Paralympics are just around the corner.
These Games will be held in Rio from September 7 to 18. China won 26 gold medals, 18 silver and 26 bronze at Rio Olympics, and will be looking for similar success at the Paralympics in just over two weeks.
The first group of 52 athletes left for Rio Monday morning. This group of athletes heading to Brazil will be competing in shooting, wheelchair racing and volleyball. The squad have take the next week or so to adapt to the environment in the host city.
At the London Paralympics, China won 95 gold medals, 71 silver and 65 bronze.
