On August 16, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc and Shenzhen Yitian Group Co Ltd jointly announced the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Gaoxin Yitian Hotel in Changchun, Jilin Province.
This opening not only marks the first Four Points by Sheraton hotel set up in Northeast China, but also the first international brand hotel in Changchun Gaoxin district. Currently there are 20 Sheraton hotels in Chinese mainland; the number is projected to surpass 50 before 2020.
Wang Weishen, the brand management manager of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in Asia, said Four Points by Sheraton is one of the fastest-growing Starwood Group brands in China. It is developing mainly in the second and third-tier cities, where the need for global brands is constantly rising.
"A survey of China's middle class traveler preferences and trends has shown that 73 percent prefer cost-effective and simple brands, which corresponds perfectly with Four Points by Sheraton concepts," he said. "Four Points by Sheraton Gaoxin Yitian Hotel is a milestone for Changchun's local hotel industry. We will do our best to provide our customers with a simple yet comfortable environment and superior service, and fulfill all the needs they have during their travels."
The hotel has 350 spacious rooms and suites, all equipped with Four Points by Sheraton custom made beds, flat screen televisions and high speed Wi-Fi.
Restaurants, such as The Eatery and China Spice, have 10 private rooms and serve delicacies of mixed Northeastern and Sichuan cuisine.
The hotel's 3,000-square-meter public facility includes an 800-square-meter open space banquet hall, a 400-square-meter multipurpose hall and eight conference rooms furnished with advanced conference equipment.
There is also a modern fitness center with a fully equipped gym and an indoor heated swimming pool.
The hotel is located in Changchun's southwestern area where the economy and entertainment industry are developing rapidly. It is in the direct vicinity of multiple offices and shopping centers. It is about 19 kilometers from Changchun Railway Station and it only takes 40 minutes to reach Changchun Longjia International Airport.
