The former head of press in north China's Shanxi Province was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and dismissed from his public post over corruption, said the provincial discipline watchdog on Monday.
Qi Feng, former director of the Shanxi Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, was accused of participating in banquets and tours backed by public funds and accepting cash bribes and gifts in exchange for favors for others, said the Shanxi CPC discipline inspection commission.
He seriously violated the spirit of the country's frugality and clean governance rules, said the commission.
His case has been forwarded to judicial authorities.
