The 25-year-old won the match 15-11 at Carioca Arena 3.
"I'm super happy. It is my first Paralympic Games participation and my first medal, a gold - I can't be more excited about this," said Zou, who has impaired muscle power.
Bian was gracious in defeat, praising the performance of her friend, Zou.
"Whoever got the gold medal would have been so happy for the other," Bian said. "So I'm still happy for my teammate that she won the gold, although I didn't get it myself."
