China is stepping up efforts in global environment governance and seeking broader international cooperation on environmental protection industry.
As a part of the efforts, a Chinese delegation, led by China Environmental Science Academy, arrived in London and participated in "Sino-UK Environmental Protection Technology Summit" that held by Chinese and UK government since last week.
During the five-day summit, participants from China have made extensive exchanges over the industrial development with officials from the UK, including UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Department of Energy & Climate Change and British Chambers of Commerce.
In a keynote speech about site remediation technologies and its challenges, Ling Jinming, executive director of Beijing GeoEnviron Engineering & Technology Inc. (BGE), was invited to introduce the company's experience in China over the past two decades.
As a pioneer in the industry, BGE has been focusing on environmental governance since 1992 and become a leading player in the site remediation industry.
Members from the Chinese delegation also paid tour to leading companies in the UK, including Atkins, Biffa Group, Quidos, during their stays in the UK.
Chinese companies in the summit said they hoped the summit would offer a platform to boost strategic cooperation and bilateral relations to make further comprehensive innovation and technological upgrading.
