A woman has painted a huge portrait of a man on a cliff in Zhejiang Province to show her love for him, local newspaper reported.
The portrait was put on a Fanzhengyan cliff in Shenxianju Scenic Zone, Xianju County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, Qianjiang Evening News reported.
The Fanzhengyan cliff, 218 meters high, is loved by climbers. A source from the local team of climbing lovers told the newspaper about the love story hidden behind it: The portrait is from a female climber, 37, who is fond of another man, 40, in the team. Both of them are single. So the woman made this portrait, about 7 meters high on the cliff, to show her love for him.
"Every weekend the woman would climb up on the cliff and spend hours painting," the source said. "To save time, she would spend two days and nights on the cliff. It took her 10 days in total to finish the portrait over a period of two months."
"It was wrong to make graffiti in a scenic zone, but her love and action are very touching," the source added.
Local authorities have contacted the cliff painter and communicated with her after the image became an internet hit. "She had a good attitude and was very collaborative for our investigation," a scenic zone law enforcement staffer said. "She promised she will clear the portrait and restore the original look of the area."
