The capital's annual photography festival, Photo Beijing, will be held from October 15-23, the event's organizers announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
The fourth Photo Beijing, the festival will take "Photograph Presence" as its theme and will include a series of photography exhibitions and events that are expected to bring in more than 1,000 photographers from more than 30 countries and regions around the world.
More than 50 exhibitions, including a special exhibition for photography works from four well- known photographers, will be at the festival. According to Spanish curator Susana Sanz Gimenez, the works include those selected from Photo España 2016 such as Asier Rua's 2015 work Madrid interior, Yannis Karpouzis' work Parallel Crisis and Lurdes R. Basolí's My Danube.
Chris Coe - the curator of one of the festival's exhibitions, Travel Photographer of the Year - described his exhibition in a statement, "The breathtaking photography (in the exhibition) captures the very best images of people and cultures, landscape, wildlife and adventure from around the world, taken by the most creative photographers. This is a retrospective exhibition of 50 photographs comprising the very best winning entries, which have been submitted over the past 13 years of Travel Photographer of the Year."
In addition to the exhibition, other events such as master classes will be held during the festival.
