A road accident involving a minibus and a cement tanker on Wednesday left nine people dead in northeast China's Liaoning Province, police said.
The minibus lost control, overturned into the opposite lane, and crashed onto a heavy cement tanker at 6:10 a.m. on a section of road in Wensheng District of Liaoyang city, according to a police officer with Liaoyang City Public Security Bureau. The road connects the provincial capital of Shenyang and Yingkou City.
Five people on the minibus were pronounced dead at the scene. Four more died on the way to hospital, said the police officer.
The investigation continues.
