China's top leaders will attend a ceremony to commemorate Martyrs' Day on Sept. 30.
This year is also the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, a famous military maneuver carried out by the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army by the Communist Party of China from 1934 to 1936.
The leaders, together with representatives from all walks of life, will leave flowers for the people's heroes in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, on Friday morning.
China Central Television will live broadcast the event.
