Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)'s coordination commission for the 2022 Winter Games Alexander Zhukov in Beijing on Monday, promising a "fantastic, extraordinary and excellent" Games.
Liu welcomed Zhukov to host the first meeting of the IOC coordination commission for the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and stressed that China will be strictly in compliance with the IOC rules, particularly following the guidance of the Olympic Agenda 2020, to present a fantastic, extraordinary and excellent Winter Olympics in the six years to come.
Zhukov spoke highly of China's effective prepartion for the 2022 Games, saying their visit confirmed that Beijing is capable of hosting a successful 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Zhukov, who previously headed the IOC's evaluation commission assessing the bids for the 2022 Games, chairs the 16-member coordination commission that will monitor preparations for the 2022 Games.
