Adapted from J.K. Rowling's book of the same name, film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has received a mainland release date of November 18, meaning it will hit Chinese theaters on the same day as in the U.S. and the UK.
A spin-off of the Harry Potter series, the film will once again take audiences into Rowling's wizardly world, but this time the story will take place in the U.S. instead of the UK.
The story takes place 70 years before the Harry Potter series as wizard Newt Scamander arrives in New York City together with mysterious magical creatures hidden in his suitcase, which contains a door to another dimension.
The film is directed by David Yates, the director of the final four installments of the Harry Potter films. Eddie Redmayne, the Oscar, Tony Award and British Film Academy Award winner, plays the lead role of Newt Scamander.
Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol and Colin Farrell are also part of the film's cast.
