Shanghai Educational Publishing House launched the first-ever Chinese sex-education textbook for primary school boys Wednesday, xinmin.cn reported.
The textbook reportedly covers sex-related topics that boys encounter, especially physiological issues.
The textbook contains six chapters. The first is "I Am A Boy," which helps them understand the physical differences between males and females. The second is "Embracing Myself," which hopes to encourage boys to accept their unique personalities. The third is "I Want To Grow Up," which explores issues like why males need to be responsible.
According to a spokesperson from Shanghai Educational Publishing House, the textbook targets grade 4 and 5 boys. Male students who are issued this textbook are advised to be separated from their female counterparts while being taught.
