Chinese top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Wednesday met with a delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) led by President of the Lao Front for National Construction Xaysomphone Phomvihane.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said China and Laos have established a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation with a high degree of mutual trust over the past 55 years since they first forged diplomatic ties.

China is willing to work with Laos to fully implement the consensus reached by both leaders, Yu said.

The CPPCC would like to deepen cooperation with the Lao Front for National Construction and close bilateral exchanges to lift bilateral ties to a new level.

Xaysomphone said the LPRP and the Lao government are committed to developing bilateral ties with China and the Lao Front for National Construction is willing to enhance cooperation with the CPPCC.

Xaysomphone is slated to attend "The Party and the World 2016" forum to be held in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing from Thursday to Saturday.

Du Qinglin, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, also met with Xaysomphone in Beijing on Wednesday.
