"China's campaign to improve its human rights has entered a new stage, and the improvements are widely recognized internationally," said Liu, head of the publicity department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at a meeting Monday.

Authorities should vigorously publicize Chinese human rights theories and its human rights development path, to show the the world how China is continuing to improve governance, as well as ensuring people's rights and legitimate interests, Liu said.

They should also demonstrate to the world that China performed its international human rights obligations and promoted international understanding and recognition of its human rights development path, he added.

Liu asked the authorities to conduct dialogues with foreign countries and strengthen cooperation with international organizations, foreign governments and parties, think-tanks and media outlets.
