Oscar winner Michael Douglas is looking for opportunities to work with Chinese film producers to make a golf movie.
"I would love to make a golf movie, as I have been looking for one for a very long time," he said.
Douglas was in Haikou, Hainan province, among a galaxy of stars from the world of sport and entertainment, for a golf tournament at the 2016 Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-AM, on the tropical island of Hainan province.
"I have never quite been able to accomplish it, in terms of the story versus just the joy of being able to play golf on an active film," he said.
Douglas said China might be a location for him to realize the dream of making a golf movie.
"We know that there are a lot of American co-productions now with China. And a lot of Americans are coming over here. So I look forward to the opportunity, particularly seeing a new movie center here in Mission Hills," he said.
"It is an extraordinary opportunity and I look forward to coming back here with my family to make a good film together."
Douglas's wife, Catherine Zeta Jones, meanwhile, is a big golf fan.
"When I fell in love with Catherine, you know there were a lot of reasons, but when she told me that she loved golf I melted. That was the closer! I thought not only is she beautiful and talented but she plays golf," he said.
"And I always had this fantasy that on weekends my wife and I being in a golf cart together so it was a wonderful surprise. She is very good at golf. She makes me jealous."
Douglas said he did not teach his kids how to play golf.
"They haven't showed much interest yet and I can't blame them. It is a frustrating. I try to encourage them because I started the game late and you watch the people who started when they were kids and the play much better," he said.
