Rio Olympic MVP for team China Zhu Ting's Vakifbank volleyball team won its first match at Turkish Women Volleyball League - Vestel Venus Sultans League against Seramiksan 3-0 in Turkey's western city of Manisa on Sunday.
Vakifbank defeated their opponents without any struggle, taking the match 25-21, 25-17, 25-13 in 72 minutes.
China's world famous spiker Zhu Ting had 11 points, and her Serbian teammate Milan Rasic scored 12 points at the top of the match.
"Home fans gave us a little bit of pressure," Zhu told Xinhua. "I felt the passion of Turkish league and noticed the way home fans cheer up their team."
Speaking about her performance, Zhu said she was satisfied with her reception and her block but admitted she had "some errors in spiking."
"I am well-prepared for the upcoming league matches," she added. "I look forward to our home matches and seeing the fans' passion next week."
As one of the league title favorites, Vakifbank will play its next match against Istanbul's Galatasaray club on Nov. 2.
